Withdrawal of Certification of Certain Cladding Systems

We draw your attention to the Media Release issued by CertMark International (CMI) issued 21st February 2019 withdrawing their certification of certain building products.

If you are using any of the following products:-

  • CM40029 Ozone Panel Building Systems
  • CM40066 Alpolic A2
  • CM40067 Alpolic FR
  • CM40076 Ultrabond FR
  • CM40079 Vitrabond FR
  • CM40082 Dulux Exsulite TM Kooltherm Façade System
  • CM40093 Larson FR
  • CM40138 Dulux Exsulite TM Thermal Façade non-cavity system
  • CM40162 Cladex FR

Their continued use may prove problematic for builders from a defects warranty perspective.

CMI issue product certification under the CodeMark Scheme to certify a product is safe to use in construction of certain types of buildings. Many building surveyors and designers rely upon such certification. In the absence of certification there are other methods that can be used to determine the acceptability of any product.

We recommend you discuss the continued use of any of these products with your building surveyor. If they confirm it is acceptable to continue using them secure this confirmation in writing.

Our concern is that your continued use of a product that does not carry certification may be deemed use of a defective product and you may be forced to replace that product in the future.
